| LATVIAN GOVERNMENT STUDY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN LATVIA 2018 |
- The last date of this scholarship is 1st April, 2018.
- This scholarship is awarded for the study of following undergraduate, master and PhD degree.
- The Scholarships are gifted in any accessible subject at Latvian HEI.

- The award of scholarship is being composed of amount of the Latvian state scholarship for students’ studies such as:
– For PhD students – 670 EUR per month.
- In this scholarship all study programmes in English at Latvian higher education academy are not free of cost. Eligible Countries: the Citizens from countries that have signed or inscribe an Agreement* on co-operation in education and science such as:
Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Belgium (Federation Wallonia – Brussels), Cyprus, Kazakhstan, The People`s Republic of China, Finland, France, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Turkey, Croatia, Mexico, Turkmenistan, Moldova, Ukraine, , Mongolia, Tajikistan, Peru, South Korea, Israel, Uzbekistan and Spain.
The Citizens from countries that given the scholarships for Latvian students, researchers and teaching staff without legal concurrence on co-operation in education and science such as
Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Sweden, Lithuania, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Slovakia, The United States of America.

The Applications for bachelor`s student and the first level of professional higher education studies will be acceptable from students who have successfully completed minimum one year academic of studies (at their home higher education academy or at a Latvian higher education institution, if they already have been studying in Latvia) at the time of application (February, March 2018).
The Scholarships for the bachelor`s and master`s students studies are awarded for one academic year –a time duration up to 10 months and for PhD-students the time duration is up to 11 months.
The Scholarship for master`s study programmes of Latvian philology, literature, Latvian culture and Latvian history can be awarded for two academic years, i.e. for the duration of master`s study programme.
If a student wishes to continue her or his studies in Latvia for one more year, she or he has to apply again for the Latvian scholarship. The Latvian scholarship can be gifted not more than for two continuously terms to one individual.
The academic year in Latvia lasts from 1st September to 30th June 2018.
